UPDATE (July 8):
The man who was found with a gunshot wound to the face on Belle Avenue on June 30 has died, according to KCSO.
Officials say 48-year-old Charles Vincent Sheffield was taken to the Fresno Community Hospital for his injuries but was pronounced dead on July 6.
KCSO says his death is currently being investigated as suspicious.
A postmortem examination will be performed to determine the cause and manner of Sheffield's death.

We have some new details in a suspicious shooting investigation in Oildale overnight.
The Kern County Sheriff's Office says the victim was found with a gunshot wound to the face on Belle Avenue near Oildale Drive and Roberts Lane. Officials say the victim is in stable condition, but it is unclear how they were injured.
Officials say deputies were called out for reports of a dog bite just before 10 p.m. Sunday night, but when they arrived they found paramedics already on scene and taking the victim to the hospital.
The investigation is ongoing and we have more information as it becomes available.
