The Kern County Sheriff's Office is investigating a stabbing that left one person injured on Sunday morning.

Officials say they responded to Mt. Vernon Avenue and Oregon Street at 1:15 a.m. and found a victim suffering from moderate injuries. The victim was taken to a local hospital.

KCSO says the suspect fled from the scene.
