KCSO investigating series of convenience store crashes and robberies

Posted

The Kern County Sheriff's Office is looking for several people involved in driving a car into an Oildale liquor store and robbing it Monday morning.

Around 6:30 a.m. on Monday, the suspects ran a stolen vehicle into Anthony's Food & Liquor store, KCSO Sgt. Anderson said.

The suspects ran off with lottery tickets and cigarettes, KCSO said. The stolen vehicle was found abandoned a few blocks east of the liquor store on N Chester and Day Avenues.

KCSO said the robbery involves multiple suspects.

This incident is one of a series of ongoing incidents, possibly by the same suspects, according to KCSO. They believe the suspects are either manually removing convenience store doors or crashing into them and stealing lottery tickets and cigarettes.

No one was injured in Monday morning's incident.
