BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The Kern County Sheriff's Office is investigating skeletal remains found on Highway 46 and Lost Hills Road.

Officials say they received a call around 1:30 p.m. Sunday, after a passer-by discovered the remains. KCSO officials say weather and rainfall could be a factor in uncovering the skeleton.
