LAMONT, Calif. — The Kern County Sheriff's Department is investigating a stabbing that happened in Lamont in the early hours of New Year's Day.

According to KCSO, around 1:27 a.m. on January 1, deputies were dispatched to the 8900 block of Hall Road for an assault with a deadly weapon. When deputies arrived, they found a Hispanic male with apparent stab wounds to his upper body. He was transported to the hospital with major injuries.
