The coroner has identified the man as 47-year-old Matthew Michael Wires was found deceased in McKittrick at approximately 2:30 a.m.
The cause and manner of his death is being investigated through a postmortem examination.
On October 26 at approximately 2:30 a.m., the Kern County Sheriff's Office received a call regarding a deceased man at a residence near 22700 D Street in McKittrick.
The death was deemed to be suspicious according to deputies and homicide detectives were called to investigate.
The cause and manner of death have not been identified at this time and the investigation is ongoing.
