BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The Kern County Sheriff's Office is investigating two possible gang-related cases in Lamont and Bakersfield.
On Thursday, March 28, KCSO was called in regards to a stabbing involving two victims near Pioneer Park in Bakersfield. According to officials, the victims were approached by two unknown Hispanic males.
Deputies say the men asked the victims where they were from and when they did not reply, they were stabbed.
The second case occurred on Thursday as well in the area of 8400 School Street just after 10 p.m. Lamont deputies were dispatched to a victim of a shooting. The man was transported to a local hospital with a non-life threatening gunshot wound.
There are no suspects identified in the shooting.
According to KCSO, they do not believe that the two cases are connected but both are being investigated as possibly gang-related.
