BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — A local man has been arrested for allegedly arranging to meet up with a minor through Instagram for lewd purposes, according to The Kern County Sheriff's office.
Detectives say on May 7, after an investigation, they discovered that 52-year-old Oscar Raul Maguregui Jr., used the name "CALIFASSUN" on Instagram to befriend and message a minor. Officials say the messages sent from Maguregui Jr. to the minor expressed desire to engage in sexually explicit acts with the underage individual.
On May 19 around 4:20 p.m., detectives arrested Maguregui Jr. in the 6200 area of Norris Road after he agreed to meet the minor at a location and engage in sexual acts.
Maguregui Jr., was booked into jail for Arranging a Meeting w/Minor for Lewd Purposes and Annoying or Molesting a Child charges.
According to KCSO, this investigation is still ongoing.

Officials are also warning parents that a sexual predator can be a classmate, employer, family friend or someone you meet on social media.This case points out that parents should have open discussions with their kids regarding social media and online safety.
