RIDGECREST, Calif. — Officials say they've arrested a man wanted for an alleged carjacking incident that happened back in January.
Deputies from the Ridgecrest Substation say on July 4 around 7:10 p.m. they were investigating a stolen car in Johannesburg when they were tipped off that 36-year-old Nicolas Stiles was hiding in a home.
Court records show that Stiles had an active felony arrest warrant and was wanted for assault with a deadly weapon. Deputies say that on January 25, Stiles stole a truck and a motorcycle in the Fremont Valley area. He was reportedly armed with a shotgun during the crime.
The cars were recovered in the Red Mountain area of San Bernardino County.
Stiles was arrested on his felony warrant and a violation of P.C. 148(a)(1) – resisting or delaying a peace officer.
