KCSO: Missing autistic teen found safe

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — UPDATE (4/9/19 4:10 p.m.): The Kern County Sheriff's Office says missing 17-year-old Francisco Vejar Jr. has been found safe.

In the initial release from KCSO, Vejar was reported to be 15 years old.

The Kern County Sheriff's Office is requesting public assistance in locating a missing autistic teen.

According to KCSO, 15-year-old Francisco Vejar Jr. was last seen around 10:15 a.m. in front of the Ruggenberg Career Center at 610 Ansol Lane in East Bakersfield.

Francisco is being described as a 5' 9", 140 lbs Hispanic male. He was last seen wearing a black sweatshirt, red shirt and blue jeans.

Francisco attends the Ruggenberg Career Center and Foothill High School.
