KCSO personnel update the number of lives lost on the Kern River sign

Kern County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue personnel updated the sign at the mouth of the Kern River Canyon to reflect the number of lives lost in the Kern River since 1968 on Friday.

The sign is updated each year to include the number of lives lost in the river during the previous twelve months.

This year the sign will be updated from 275 lives lost to 280 lives lost. Search and Rescue personnel will be available to answer questions regarding river safety.
