On Saturday, January 9, 2016, the Kern County Sheriff’s Office Bomb Squad, with the assistance of allied agencies, responded to Johannesburg, California in regard to the service of a search warrant at 312 Buluwago Ave.
The service of the search warrant continued through Tuesday, January 12, 2016. A number of improvised explosive devices (IED) and incendiary type devices were located and disposed of by the Kern County Sheriff’s Office Bomb Squad.

Seized devices included:
- Three incendiary type devices.
- Four types of commercial explosives.
- Seven IEDs.
- Two of the IEDs and incendiary type devices were set up as booby traps inside the home.
