KCSO reports victim of a shooting in Wofford Heights Saturday evening

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — UPDATE: A juvenile is now in KCSO custody following the Wofford Heights shooting that occurred late Saturday night.

Officials have confirmed that the shooting left one man with "serious but not life-threatening" injuries. The victim was transported to Kern Medical.

The shooter fled the scene before being apprehended by KCSO officials.

KCSO is still working to determine a motive.

A shooting injured one man in Wofford Heights at about 11 p.m. Saturday, officials say.

According to the Kern County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to the shooting in the 1800 block of Anchorage Avenue and located a male victim of the shooting.

The man was transported to Kern Medical with at least one gunshot wound, according to KCSO. His condition is unknown.

The investigation is ongoing.
