Kern County coroner identifies 22-year-old from College Place, WA as body pulled from Kern River

UPDATE: The Kern County coroner has identified 22-year-old Michael Clark of College Place, Washington as the body pulled from the Kern River in Lake Isabella Sunday.

Officials have not listed a date for when Clark went into the river. A postmortem examination was performed but the cause and manner of death are still pending.


The Kern County Sheriff's Office responded to a report of a body in the Kern River about half a mile downstream from Keysville around 1:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon.

Officials say KCSO's Search and Rescue team responded and recovered the body from the river. The victim’s identity will be pending from the coroner.
