KCSO Search and Rescue responding to help stranded motorists near Pine Mountain Club

UPDATE (Dec. 21, 7:40 a.m.): Fort Tejon CHP officials say Mil Potrero Highway is still closed from the Y to Pine Club due to ice.

CHP says the Kern County Roads department is headed to the scene to help clear the area. 

CHP public information officer Rich Anthes estimates the highway will be closed at least another two hours.

A roadway in the Frazier Park area, heading up to Pine Mountain Club has been closed due to road conditions. 

The California Highway Patrol Fort Tejon division posted on its Facebook page that Mil Potrero Highway is closed from the Y to Pine Mountain Club due to ice. 

Officials also added multiple vehicles are stuck and there have been multiple collisions. 

The Kern County Sheriff's Office said Search and Rescue is responding to assist CHP as they take drivers and passengers to the Pine Mountain Club Clubhouse. 

KCSO officials said they did not know what was going to happen to those stranded motorists after they were taken to the clubhouse. 

KCSO officials also said they were told CHP called for County Roads, however they were not available and would not be responding.
