BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The Kern County Sheriff's Department is asking for the communities assistance in helping locate a missing man.

Detectives said that 21-year-old Joseph Lara was last seen on Thursday, January 10 on the 1400 block of Truxtun Ave. However, his Facebook account showed activity until Thursday, January 17.

Lara is described as an Hispanic man, with brown hair and brown eyes. He is 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighing 154 pounds.

He was last seen wearing a gray sweater and black pants.

He has a tattoo of a spray can on the right arm, highway signs on right forearm, a portrait of his daughter on his left arm and LARA on his chest.
