KCSO searching for Bakersfield man suspected of two murders

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The Kern County Sheriff's Office is looking for a Bakersfield man they believe is one of the suspects responsible for two murders.

Investigators have linked 29-year-old Edward Diaz to the two deceased males found in a vineyard outside of Arvin on June 13, 2018. The Coroner's office later identified the two victims as Samuel Atkinson and Vincent Valdez. Both Atkinson and Valdez were found with obvious trauma to their bodies, according to KCSO.

Investigators have listed two individuals, Diaz and 45-year-old Louie Perez as their suspects. Perez is currently in custody for three additional murders in Kern County. Diaz has not been located at this time.

Officials are describing Diaz as a Hispanic male, approximately 5’10” tall, weighing about 240 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.

He currently has two warrants for his arrest charging him with the two murders.
