TAFT, Calif. — A resident call regarding a suspicious vehicle led to a drugs and stolen gun arrest in Taft, according to the Kern County Sheriff's Office.
Officials say on May 24 around 9:13 a.m., deputies from the Taft Substation were patrolling the area of Dustin Acres after receiving information from a concerned citizen about a suspicious car driving around in the area.
Deputies eventually located the car and initiated a traffic stop in 27000 block of Dustin Acres Road where they arrested 35-year-old Victor Alsept. During a search of Alsept's car officials found a stolen handgun, ammo, high capacity magazine illegal drugs, paraphernalia and indication of drug sales.
Officials then searched Alsept’s home where they found a large amount of methamphetamine and stolen property from a residential burglary that occurred one week ago in the Taft/Valley Acres area.
Alsept's car was towed and he was booked on several drug and gun charges including Possession of Stolen Property.
