The Kern County Sheriff's Office will hold its annual Peace Officer Memorial ceremony to pay homage to members of the Sheriff’s Office who have lost their lives in service.
During this period of observance, deputies will be wearing black mourning bands over their badges and flags at Sheriff’s Office facilities will be flown at half-staff.
The ceremony will be held on Thursday, May 19th at 10:00 a.m. at the Sheriff’s Office Memorial Monument at Sheriff’s Headquarters, 1350 Norris Rd. in Bakersfield.
The Sheriff’s Office will also host the annual county-wide memorial ceremony on the same date at 12:00 pm at the Kern County Peace Officer’s Memorial at 1415 Truxtun Ave. in Bakersfield.
