Automaker General Motors is recalling 6,280 police cars because of a problem with the power steering.

There are concerns some of the affected cars could be right here in Kern County.

The recall covers Chevrolet Caprice police pursuit vehicles from 2014 through 2016 models.

Officers with the Bakersfield Police Officers drive Fords and are not affected with the recall.

However, the Kern County Sheriff’s Office does have Chevys in its fleet.  

It's not known at this time of any of those vehicles are part of the recall.
