KCSO is warning the community of a possible phone scam involving an individual misidentifying himself as an employee of the Sheriff’s Office.

A citizen reported that someone who identified themselves as a person from the Sheriff’s Office inquired about why she had missed jury duty. The caller then asked for personal information like their name and address.

When the citizen became suspicious, the caller said there was a warrant out for her arrest and if she hung up, she would be arrested.

The Sheriff’s Office received a report involving a similar incident earlier this year.
