WASCO, Calif. — A Wasco man is behind bars after allegedly shooting and injuring a victim in his buttocks, according to KCSO.

Officials say the incident happened on July 13 at around 10:23 p.m. when deputies from the Wasco City, Buttonwillow and Delano Substations answered to a shooting in a parking lot in the area of 2300 Highway 46 in Wasco. When they arrived on the scene they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound to his buttocks. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment of his non-life threatening wound.

About two days later, officials were able to arrest the suspect, identified as 27-year-old Jesus Barrios, during a traffic stop.

During a search warrant deputies found around 340 grams of marijuana, scales, $1,600 surveillance cameras, several cell phones, ammunition and a loaded shotgun belonging to Barrios.

He's been booked into the Kern County Sheriff’s Office Central Receiving Facility for his arrest warrant as well as marijuana sales and maintaining a residence for the purposes of selling drugs.
