BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — In an effort to raise awareness for various cancer diagnoses, the Kern Cancer Run, Walk & Festival will celebrate its 5th annual event Saturday.

The event will feature a vendor fair, opportunity drawing, children's jog-a-thon, mascot run and a survivor social.

The cancer survivor walk and run will begin at 8:10 a.m. following the general participant run and walk.

The annual event raises funds that benefit those battling the disease with transportation and other resources.

Yokuts Park is located at 4200 Empire Drive.
