The Kern Community College District Board of Trustees voted to put a bond measure on the November ballot Thursday.
If the measure is passed, it would help repair aging buildings at Bakersfield College, Cerro Cosa Community College, and Porterville College.
"We need new facilities and new capabilities so we can care for these students when they're on campus and achieving their learning opportunities,” Bakersfield Mayor Harvey L. Hall said.
The bond would also provide job training equipment.
A recent community survey found 71% of people asked about the measure were supportive, according to the college district.
