Kern County Animal Control wants to remind pet owners to keep their pets safe tonight for Halloween:

• Keep pets inside, away from kids and crowds that might frighten them, causing them to run off.
• Offer pets their favorite toys and calm music in a room with blocked windows.
• Don’t let your pet eat candy or wrappers, chocolate can be deadly.
• Keep pets away from flames in pumpkins.
• Make sure pet costumes do not constrict the animal’s movement, vision, or hearing.
