At approximately 11:00 A.M, on Friday, February 22, Rhonda Montgomery achieved 3,000 hours as a volunteer with Kern County Animal Services. Since June of 2014, Rhonda has committed over 600 hours annually, 50 hours monthly, and over 12 hours every week to providing extraordinary care for Kern’s homeless and unwanted animals.
The Kern County Animal Shelter says that volunteers are needed to wash dishes, fold blankets, care for cats or for dogs.
Officials with Animal Services said, "On most days of the week, if you visit the puppy rooms at the Kern County Animal Shelter you will find Rhonda cleaning after the little critters and speaking to them in a soft and caring tone. At other times, you may find her training other volunteers and County staff and how she prefers puppies to be provided for."
