BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — May is Mental Health Awareness Month and on Tuesday morning the Kern County Board of Supervisors Chambers officially proclaimed May as Mental Health Awareness Month in Kern County.
The Kern Behavioral and Resource Services has promoted the initiative for 20 years and says this proclamation helps raise more awareness throughout the community.
From May 1st until May 31st, the 'When Illness Becomes Wellness' art show at the Guild House will be showcasing art created by people recovering in programs.
