Kern County Board of Supervisors to consider possible speed limit changes

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The Kern County Board of Supervisors will consider several proposals to increase speed limits on various local streets.

According to the meeting agenda, the board is set to discuss changing the speed limits from 40 and 45 miles-per hour to 55 mph on Calloway Drive between Brimhall Road and Rosedale Highway.

They will also consider changing the speed limit from 40 to 45 mph on Union Avenue between Brimhall and Rosedale Highway.

The final proposal is to change the speed limit from 30 to 35 mph on Hughes Lane between Terrace Way and Brundage Lane.

The Board of Supervisors is scheduled to meet on Tuesday at 9 a.m. at 1115 Truxtun Avenue in Downtown Bakersfield.
