BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The Kern County coroner has identified the victim of a July homicide as 27-year-old Jessie Angel Romero Mendoza of Bakersfield.

Mendoza was found unresponsive near 1200 South Union Avenue on July 10 at transported to Kern Medical where he was pronounced deceased just before 11 p.m.

A postmortem examination was conducted and the cause of death was determined to be multiple stab wounds and the manner was homicide.
