UFW still investigating farm worker deaths

Today 23ABC learned from the Kern County Sheriff's Office that a 60-year-old woman may have died as a result of the heat.

Her body has been reportedly taken to the Kern County Coroner's Office, where officials are trying to determine the exact cause of death.

Cal-OSHA is also confirming that they are investigating the death of the same farm worker, but have not started any investigations on the other four possible deaths of farm workers.

United Farm Workers is looking into these four deaths and says that they are related to the triple-digit temperatures.

A press conference will be held tomorrow morning at 11 a.m. by United Farm Workers where they plan on revealing more information on their investigation, and the steps they are taking to keep farm workers safe.
