BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The Kern County Coroner's Office has confirmed the woman who was reportedly stabbed by her brother in Tehachapi last week died from those stab wounds. The coroner's report says 37-year-old Gina Elena Armstrong died from multiple stab wounds and the manner was a homicide.

Her brother Joey Armstrong has been arrested on a first-degree murder charge.

According to court documents, an argument started between the brother and sister after Gina Armstrong reportedly left a window open while the air conditioning was running. Joey Armstrong told police he doesn't remember stabbing his sister because he was blacked out due to being intoxicated.

He is set to be back in court Wednesday.
