The Kern County Coroner's Office on Wednesday has named the victim in a deadly shooting that took place on the 8400 block of Bertal Street in Lamont on Monday.
The victim was identified as 38-year-old Dallas Dean Francis.
A post mortem examination will be scheduled to determine cause and manner of death.
On Tuesday, KCSO officials said when their deputies arrived to the scene, they located Francis lying in the roadway. He had been shot several times.
Francis was transported by ambulance to Kern Medical where he was pronounced dead.
Detectives responded to the scene and initiated a homicide investigation. The suspects were described as two Hispanic males who possibly fled the area in an SUV.
