BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — On Monday, a man was sentenced to 21 years in prison after a jury found him guilty of domestic violence, according to the Kern County District Attorney's Office.
Officials say Kelvin Jones is responsible for an attack that happened in a public park.
"When the victim attempted to wake up Jones and get him to go home, Jones punched the victim in the face, causing her to lose consciousness." the DA said.
According to the courts, when the victim woke up, Jones was on top of her, and her ankle had been broken, "requiring surgery to repair."
