BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — A Kern County Sheriff's Office detentions deputy spoke with President Donald Trump on night one of the Republican National Convention.

He told President Trump he contacted COVID-19 in March and then recovered a month and half later.

He says he was really sick for 10 days, and had all the symptoms besides a cough. He is now fully recovered from the virus.

The local detentions deputy was one of a few people who recovered from the virus and got to talk with the president.
