Kern County elected officials along with Caltrans and others will be holding a news conference to highlight transportation projects right here in Kern County. The transportation projects were made possible by SB1 funding.

The conference will take place today, Wednesday October 25, 2017 at 10 a.m.

The main project highlighted at this conference will be a Caltrans project called the Pavement Preservation Project which is costing nearly $5.1 million. The project will improve nearly 5 lanes on State Route 204 from F Street to the SR 99/SR 204.

There will also be discussion of other projects made possible by the funding of SB1.

The bill was passed in April providing approximately $5 billion annually to fund projects that make roads safer  by filling potholes, and repairing local streets.
