BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The Kern County Fair Board of Directors said it is working to ensure the safety of everyone at the fair this year in light of recent events across the country.
On Wednesday, officials said they are installing metal detectors at all of the primary entrances.
No weapons or anything that can be perceived as a weapon are allowed inside the fair.
The Kern County Fair expects more that 425,000 people to pass through its gates. Officials also advised that fair-goers allow enough time to go through security before entering the grounds.
The fair is scheduled to kick off September 18 through September 29.
