Kern County Fair prepares for 100th year, welcomes new exhibits and attractions

A day before it opens to the public, the Kern County Fair opened its gates for media members to get a glimpse of what's to come.

The fair is celebrating its 100th anniversary by welcoming some new exhibits, including an Egyptian Wildlife Exhibit and a Live Shark Encounter exhibit (both located on KC Loop). 

Also new this year are firework shows every night, and the Budweiser Pavilion has been expanded and now features 1,000 more seats.T

The Kern County Fair already features the largest kiddie carnival in the state, and also boasts the largest livestock show in California with over 3,500 animals.

The fair will begin on Wednesday and run until October 2. Ticket prices are listed below:

  • Adults: $10
  • Ages 6-12: $5
  • Ages 5 and under: FREE
  • Seniors (62 and over): $9
  • Active and retired military with ID: FREE
  • Parking: $8
