(UPDATE Thur. 5:50 p.m.) Kern County Fire announced the 165-acre Baker Fire burning off Bena Rd. and Caliente Bodfish Rd., east of Bakersfield is 100% contained.
The Kern County Fire Department is battling a 150-acre brush fire east of Bakersfield dubbed the Baker Fire.
It is burning off Bena Road and Caliente Bodfish Road, according to KCSO.
KCFD said firefighters will remain on scene through the night working to stop the forward progress and reach full containment.
