Wildfire Awareness Week shares fire danger

The Kern County Fire Department declared this week Wildfire Awareness Week.
 
KCFD Chief Brian Marshall went before the Board of Supervisors and made the proclamation. Marshall said this is meant to spread awareness of the weather conditions, and the severe consequences wildfires can have.
 
KCFD urges residents to clear dead brush around their home ahead of fire season. Marshall said fire season in California is year round, so it's never too early to start preparing.
 
Kern County Fire will hold a Wildfire Awareness Press Conference Wednesday in Bear Valley Springs.
