KCFD: House damaged in fire in Kernville

Officials with the Kern County Fire Department say they are mopping up a residential structure fire that occurred on Durwood Street in ?Kernville on Thursday.

KCFD officials said the home appeared to be a total loss with an estimated structure value of $175,000.

The cause of the fire was electrical. No persons have been injured. 2 of 5 dogs have been located uninjured. Crews are working to locate the other dogs and extinguish remaining hot spots.
