BAKERSFIELD, Calif - The Kern County Fire Department was awarded $2.9 million for critically needed equipment.
The money comes from the FEMA Assistance to Firefighters Grant in the amount of $2,912,000. This grant will be used to replace the decades old technology currently in use.
KCFD gave special thank-you to Congressman Kevin McCarthy and his staff for aiding KCFD staff in acquiring this much needed grant funding.
