UPDATE (Oct. 17 10:03 p.m.): Bakersfield Fire responded to a fire at a home on Brundage Lane near Oak Street Wednesday night.
BFD said they originally received a call around 9 p.m. that the roof of the Dollar General on Brundage and Oak was on fire. But when crews arrived, a garage for a home behind the store was actually on fire.
Officials said crews were able to quickly put out the fire because they had so many crews on scene, as it was originally reported as a second alarm fire.
No injuries were reported, according to BFD.
Crews will remain on scene investigating the cause of the fire.
Brundage Lane has reopened.
