At approximately 11 p.m., the Kern County Fire Department responded to reports of multiple homes on fire near 1700 17th Avenue in Delano.

According to officials, upon arrival, crews were faced with an exterior fire that reached to both garages. Fire crews made an aggressive attack on the fire and kept it from spreading throughout the homes or to any other exposures.

Engine crews were able to save both homes that were approximately $240,000 and were able to keep the fire damage to approximately $40,000. There were no reported injuries and the fire is under investigation.
