BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The Kern County Fire Department is reminding people that the open burning of hazard reduction fuels continues to be restricted due to drought and long-range weather forecasts.
Today and in days to come, smoke may be seen in areas throughout Kern County. The Kern County Fire Department will be conducting prescribed burns around Lake Isabella, Tehachapi and Frazier Park to remove brush piles and reduce fire hazards.
Operations are expected to be completed each day by mid-afternoon.
