Kern County Fire responds to apartment fire in Oildale, residents displaced

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Kern County Fire responded to an apartment fire in the area of El Tejon Avenue in Oildale on Tuesday just before 4:30 p.m.

According to officials, the fire was contained to one apartment in the complex and was a total loss. Residents of the apartment have been displaced and the Red Cross is working to help find them a place to stay.

Officials say a dog was found, that was at first believed to be deceased. Upon treating the dog, they learned that the animal had a pulse and proceeded take the dog to receive medical care.

At this time there is no word on the dog's condition.
