Kern County Fire responds to reports of house burning on S. Comanche Drive in Arvin

Posted
At approximately 4:30 PM the Kern County Fire Department received a call for a structure fire with smoke and flames showing in S. Comanche Drive, just south of Bear Mountain Boulevard in Arvin.

A reinforced structure response was started. Crews arrived on scene to an abandoned house fully involved in fire.

The fire was spreading to nearby palm trees and was threatening a nearby trailer.

Units on scene began a defensive attack focusing on the threatened exposures nearby. Fire fighting efforts were hampered by electrical lines down nearby. Due to the aggressive fire attack damage was contained to the original building and the adjacent palm trees.

The building is abandoned and has no power. Cause of the fire is under investigation.

There were no injuries as a result of this fire.
