BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Kern County Fire was dispatched to the area of Highway 46 and Krecks Road in Lost Hills for the report of a vegetation fire on Thursday, May 16.
After responding, firefighters found a fire that was between 10 to 12 acres in size and was threatening nearby orchards and bee boxes.
The fire was able to be contained to 56 acres and 140 out of 200 bee boxes were saved from the spreading fire.
Officials said there were no injuries reported and that the cause of the fire is unknown.
