KERN COUNTY, Calif. — Every once in awhile first responders get a chance to show off their skills when there isn't an emergency.

The Kern County Firefighters Union posted pictures on Facebook showing Captain Derek Robinson dominating in the pool at the World Police and Fire Games.

Robinson competed in eight swimming events in China. The union says he's snagged six gold medals and five world records so far.

And we wanted to give him a shoutout back here at home.
