BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — You want this Kern County firefighter responding to an emergency, especially one requiring a lot of muscle!

Ben Gallaher, an engineer with the Kern County Fire Department won the 'World's Strongest Firefighter' competition in Santa Monica Saturday, according to the Kern County Firefighters Union Instagram account.

The competition is a charity hosted by Arnold Schwarzenegger, which puts the spotlight on a firefighter's strength as they lift, pull and push heavy weight through a variety of courses.

"Ben has taken it to the limit," the Instagram post reads.
