Amazon is asking cities across America whether they would like to be the location for its new second headquarters, and Kern County has shown an interest.

The retail giant has said it plans to spend more than $5 billion on the new corporate campus and create about 50,000 full-time jobs. 

The company said its new headquarters would mirror its Seattle campus, which added $38 billion to the city's economy over a span of six years.

Amazon will announce its new location next year.
